A Brief History of Engelbrecht Grills

Like most businesses, Engelbrecht Grills and Cookers started in a garage. As a metal fabricator and certified welder, and having a love for bbq, I got tired of the "throw away" grills in the box stores. Instead I decided to build one for myself, the way I wanted. I hated being "stuck" with something I could only grill or "indirect grill" or something I could only bbq in. Instead I merged those needs together into one grill/bbq pit. I used my experience in manufacturing to build a bbq pit/grill in a way that suited me and was built to my satisfaction.

After I built my grill (which would later evolve into the Braten) my friends wanted one of their own. For four years there was always a bbq pit or grill in my garage that I was building. Soon my part time job became my full time job as more people wanted the same thing I did. A better built grill.

After some considerable thought, our family decided to build a 3300 square foot manufacturing facility and soon started employing other experienced metal fabricators.

Take a close look at an Engelbrecht grill or cooker, the sealed wiring on the trailer units, the powder coated bodies and frames, the UV resistant hard wood handles, the solid 3/8" stainless cooking grates on the Braten, every little item is thought out for durability and the cooking needs of the outdoor chef. Did you ever think that having dissimilar metals together would create a galvanic response on your grill increasing the corrosion rate, and that something should be done to correct it? We did, but we can't tell you what we did. It's a trade secret.

Family-Owned and Operated

Today Engelbrecht Grills is still a family run business and the small town "good ole' boy" attitude remains here. Now we are working in an 8100 square foot complex, and our products are still built by hand. To help ensure quality and on-time delivery our company also helps employ three other specialized manufacturing companies. Today, you can find an Engelbrecht grill or cooker in backyards, fireplaces, campgrounds and tailgating events in every state in the mainland.
